Place d’Italie
The place d’ Italie is a square in Paris’s 13th arrondissement. There are about 8 streets that pass the square. Also home of Gobelins tapestries since 1662. Near the Butte-aux-Cailles village. The village was named after the family Cailles who farmed the area; windmills covered the area in the 19th century. It is the area where Pilatre du Rozier a chemistry and physics teacher landed the first manned hot air balloon in 1783.
