HISTORICAL FACTS ABOUT BAYSWATER

The Bayswater name is derived from Bayard’s Watering a chief spring and drinking place for horses.

Farming and the gazing of animals were common during those days. Bayswater saw development in the Gregorian era between 1820 and 1850 streets were constructed followed by large houses and today some of theses houses have become hotels.

Famous characters who lived and live in Bayswater are Alexander Fleming the Scottish biologist who discovered Penicillin and Winston Churchill the former wartime Prime Minister.
